Jay Wilkinson

Founder

Jay Wilkinson, the founder of the Do More Good® Movement, has dedicated his career to leveraging business as a force for good. The nonprofit organization is on a mission to inspire and support the establishment of 1 million Do More Good® Companies by 2030, fostering a global shift towards ethical and sustainable business practices.

With a track record of founding over a dozen companies, Wilkinson’s most notable business venture is Firespring—a Certified B Corporation based in Nebraska. Recognized in Inc. Magazine in 2016 as one of America’s Top 50 Places to Work and appearing seven times on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies, Firespring exemplifies the success that comes from combining profit with purpose.

As a founding Board member of the Nebraska Angels, Wilkinson has contributed significantly to the Silicon Prairie’s vibrant startup ecosystem, investing in more than 100 startups and mentoring dozens of entrepreneurs. His deep commitment to fostering community and leadership extends beyond business, as evidenced by his long-standing involvement with Launch Leadership, where he has taught servant leadership skills to high school students for more than three decades. As a philanthropist, Jay has raised millions for the nonprofits that inspire him.

Jay’s insights on company culture and purpose-driven business have reached a wide audience, including over 1 million views for his TEDx talk. An alumnus of MIT’s Entrepreneurial Master’s Program, his expertise has been featured on CNN and other national news outlets, highlighting the critical role of purpose-driven companies in the American economy.

Graham Pansing-Brooks

Co-Founder

Graham Pansing Brooks is a visionary leader and business strategist committed to driving impact at the intersection of social enterprise and sustainable business practices. As the Co-Founder of the Do More Good® Movement, Graham is at the forefront of a mission to inspire and empower 1 million purpose-driven companies by 2030, championing a transformative shift in how businesses operate and contribute to society.

With a robust background in social enterprise and the healthcare industry, Graham has a proven track record of advising organizations on leveraging their operations for meaningful impact. He holds a Master of Legal Studies with a focus on Corporate Law from the University of Nebraska College of Law and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Global Health, Society & Culture from Emory University. His expertise spans executive leadership consulting, public speaking, social enterprise strategy, and advanced information technology systems.

Graham’s passion for fostering growth and innovation extends beyond his professional achievements. He is dedicated to equipping leaders with the tools and insights to create thriving, purpose-driven organizations. Whether organizing impactful events, mentoring emerging leaders, or navigating complex challenges, Graham is a catalyst for change, helping businesses integrate profitability with purpose.

Jonathan D. (JD) Messinger

Executive Director 

Jonathan D. (JD) Messinger is a corporate visionary, inspirational speaker, and spiritual mentor. He began life as a fireman and went on to become CEO of Ernst & Young Consulting, South East Asia, and one of 37 Distinguished Graduates from the United States Naval Academy in the class of 1981. He is a former nuclear submarine officer and the crisis response leader who helped supervise the Valdez oil spill cleanup, SARs, hurricane Harvey, and 9/11 response teams.

Nominated as CNBC Asian CEO of the Year, he was the Channel News Asia IT Person of the Week and advisor to the Singapore Prime Minister, Fortune 100 companies, members of parliament, and dignitaries around the world on industrial evolution, innovation, outsourcing, and energy policy. He was an advisor to the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) with multiple world-first innovations, including games, consulting methods, a TV show, and the world’s first multi-media ebook. In 2018 he founded The Messinger Institute whose mission is to cultivate a community of authentic people using their gifts and powers to inspire hope, foster balance, expand consciousness, and unleash human potential.

Garrett Anderson

ROI of Why Conference Curator

Garrett Anderson is a connector of people and ideas, driven by a belief that the right story, shared at the right time, can unlock transformation. As the ROI of Why Conference Curator for the Do More Good® Movement, Garrett is responsible for designing the content arc and securing visionary speakers for the 2026 ROI of Why Conference—a global gathering of purpose-driven leaders redefining the role of business in society.

Garrett brings more than a decade of experience in brand storytelling, strategic partnerships, and creative business development. With a background in nonprofit leadership and social enterprise, his career has spanned corporate philanthropy, startup ventures, and mission-aligned consulting. He has a rare talent for identifying emerging thought leaders, elevating overlooked voices, and weaving diverse perspectives into cohesive, high-impact experiences.

Whether he’s scouting changemakers from across industries or co-creating transformative programming behind the scenes, Garrett ensures that the ROI of Why stage reflects the depth, nuance, and urgency of the Do More Good® Movement. His curation blends inspiration with action—sparking powerful conversations that challenge assumptions and drive lasting change.

Mikaela Shybut

Project Manager

Mikaela Shybut is the steady hand behind the scenes of the Do More Good® Movement—ensuring that big dreams are delivered on time, on budget, and with purpose. As Project Manager, Mikaela orchestrates the complex web of initiatives, partnerships, and events that power the Movement forward, turning bold ideas into tangible outcomes with precision and care.

Known for her organizational mastery and calm under pressure, Mikaela brings more than a decade of experience in nonprofit operations, event planning, and creative project execution. She has a gift for transforming chaos into clarity, juggling competing priorities while keeping teams aligned, focused, and inspired. Whether coordinating logistics for a national conference, managing cross-functional campaigns, or tracking a dozen moving deadlines, Mikaela ensures every detail supports the greater mission.

But Mikaela’s impact isn’t just operational—it’s deeply personal. A lifelong advocate for community and compassion, she brings heart to everything she touches. Her work is driven by a core belief that purpose and efficiency are not mutually exclusive—and that real change happens when visionary leaders are supported by rock-solid infrastructure.

Outside of her professional life, Mikaela is a dedicated foster parent for rescue dogs, an avid DIY creator, and an active volunteer in her local community. She lives by example, embodying the Movement’s values of service, empathy, and joyful action.

Samantha Brennan

Community Manager

Samantha Brennan is a dynamic bridge-builder who blends technical expertise, creative storytelling, and community-centered values to cultivate belonging and connection. As the Community Manager for the Do More Good® Movement, Sam leads the design and facilitation of both digital and in-person experiences that unite purpose-driven individuals, companies, and organizations.

With a background as a programmer and 3D animator, Sam brings a rare fusion of logic and imagination to her work—ensuring that every interaction is both meaningful and meticulously crafted. Her unique perspective helps translate the Movement’s vision into real-world impact by engaging members, amplifying voices, and fostering collaborative relationships across the growing community.

A lifelong learner and advocate for inclusive, purpose-led spaces, Sam is passionate about empowering people to show up authentically. Whether managing online forums, coordinating community events, or elevating emerging leaders, she ensures every participant feels seen, heard, and supported.

Outside of her work with the Movement, Sam is an artist at heart, continuously exploring the intersection of technology, creativity, and social good. Her approach is rooted in the belief that strong communities don’t happen by accident—they’re intentionally cultivated through empathy, trust, and shared purpose.

Phil Whitmarsch

Publishing Chief Navigator

Phil Whitmarsh is a master storyteller and publishing strategist who helps aspiring authors bring their ideas to life—one transformative conversation at a time. As Chief Navigator of Do More Good® Publishing, Phil leads authors through the creative journey of writing, editing, designing, and launching purpose-driven books that amplify ideas, deepen impact, and inspire change.

With over 25 years of experience in publishing, nonprofit partnerships, brand development, and project management, Phil blends entrepreneurial savvy with a deep passion for storytelling. His career began in political science and evolved through creative marketing initiatives that supported national nonprofits—including environmental campaigns that helped replant forests and even assisted in returning Free Willy to his home in Iceland. This spirit of purpose and impact continues to shape his approach to publishing today.

A seasoned guide for thousands of authors, Phil has worked across every genre—memoirs, business books, children’s literature, poetry, cookbooks, and more. He believes every person has a story that matters and takes great joy in helping people uncover the book that’s already within them.

Whether he’s mentoring first-time writers or refining go-to-market strategies for thought leaders, Phil ensures that each book is not only beautifully crafted, but also authentically aligned with the author’s mission. He has also authored his own book on independent publishing, further demystifying the path for those ready to share their voice with the world.
